Me: It's a tattoo.
Girl: -reaches over and touches my tattoo for a minute- Does it come off?
Me: No, it's permanent. It's gonna be there forever.
Girl: Oh. -pause- Why did you get it?
Me: Because I have a lot of conviction.
Girl: What?
Me: It means... I'm earnestly confident about a lot of things. And that those things are really important to me.
Girl: What?
